Portfolio » The Sin of Sushi

The Sin of Sushi is a fictional Japanese restaurant with a set of specialty rolls based on the seven sins.

When I first thought of making a website for a Japanese restaurant, I wanted to base the color scheme on sushi since it was going to be an integral part of the restaurant's identity. The site originally was going to be white with a wasabi green, but I found the dark nori green to be bolder. With an orange color reminiscent of roe and salmon, the color scheme was complete.

Several graphics come together on this site. Various stock images are used in the header. A flower graphic serves as the bullet in the left column where the restaurant's information is listed and also gives a bit of graphical interest to the highest-level heading which, on this site, states the restaurant's name. The background is a modified version of the Gunpowder Tea pattern from DinPattern.com.
